Ciao,
this project has been an amazing journey from start to finish, from the initial idea to the final build. I've been looking for a way to protect my printer from dust, temperature fluctuations, and reduce noise during printing.
But this product doesn't stop there; it also provides two drawers for spare parts and tools, plus a drawer for collecting "THE POOPS".
You'll have a side spool holder, but you can also mount your AMS Lite right on top with a brand new, fully magnetic holder. How cool is that?
I wouldn't rule out making some changes in the future to make this enclosure heated and dehumidified if there's ever a demand for it.
In case you were wondering, this project was specifically designed and divided into parts to be printed on your A1 Mini. Of course, nothing stops you from using other printers, but if you do, you'll need to reposition the various parts on the build plates before printing.
I'll tell you right away, this isn't a project you can print in just a few hours. It will keep you busy for at least a week, if not more, but in the end, you'll have printed it all by yourself-except for the front glass, a handful of screws, and a few magnets.
It's a great test to challenge your patience and passion, but trust me, it'll be worth it in the end. At least, it was for me.
I invested 300 hours designing and fine-tuning it, and over 250 hours printing and testing every single piece multiple times to eliminate any flaws, 20 hours to write down the Assembly instructions, and finally, the "girl" has already logged another 100 hours of intensive printing.
The AWESOME thing about printing it yourself is that you can choose how to color it, making it super personal and maybe even super colorful. I'm not a great artist, unfortunately, and I always end up using the same colors.
For more information on dimensions, materials used, and so on, I encourage you to check out the model photos.
Enjoy your prints!
