I've finally put the spoolbox together and couldn't help thinking about how I would remove the spoolbox if I had to access the side panel. Sure enough, within a week, I had to open the side panel to troubleshoot as the autofeeder stopped responding even when swapped out with 2 other autofeeder units. #1 Accessing Side Panel Does anyone have a good way to remove the SpoolBox easily? Do I remove everything and try to pry the sunken connector, or use the plate as leverage and risk damaging the screw connection? Update: Easy to remove without removing the plate. Pushing it back in might need removal of the plate, but that's fine. #2 Autofeeder Removal Is there a quick way to remove the autofeeders when they get stuck? It happens to me a lot (a few times a week) even after I've changed the autofeeders. I usually have to open the autofeeder and flip the white lever inside to release the filament. With the current autofeeder holder, it is really difficult to remove while the filament is connected. I can just cut the filament off, but it wastes almost a meter of filament each time. Snapmaker support told me that the occurrence is within the acceptable range. Update: After many rounds of tests, the easiest way was to keep a spare bit of loose filament (10-20cm for me) to insert into the other inlet of the autofeeder. After it goes through, there will be a click to release both filaments. Hoping that there will be a function in the touchscreen UI to directly release it! #3 RFID What are your ways around RFID? I cut a pocket on each spool disc and designed RFID holders for them. Maybe there are more elegant ways to do it as I need to remove the baseplates each time I want to insert/remove the discs.

#4 Hygrometer gasket
Not sure if anyone else did it, but I printed a 2mm gasket ring for the hygrometers as I didn't want to glue it in.
#5 Hula Feet with the Drawer (sorry can't ever remember the spelling)
I stuck rubber buttons on the drawer base and just placed them over the Hula feet. So far so good.
#6 Spool Friction
When printing with fresh 1kg cardboard-spool filament (like Polymaker), the printer frequently reports an error that the filament is stuck. This is probably due to the friction between the cardboard spool and the spool support bar. I'm putting together a rotating spool support with ball bearings to fix this. Will update in a few days.
#7 Reaching the filament inlet
When we have 2 spools loaded, the inlets are deep inside and difficult to reach. Does anyone have a nice solution to that? Extend a guide for the inlet perhaps?


The spool rollers were a great addition to the spoolbox. I would have done your rfid solution if I hadn’t already done it myself. Thanks so much.
